Leaving a room, or even a cell, does not set you free. It only changes the boundaries of the space that confines you.

Freedom is always defined by parameters. Libertad Parametrizada is a series conceived from philosophical implications that unfold from the Technological Singularity and that characterize my work. The title itself signals a paradox that calls for inquiry: where do the limits of our freedom, as we know it, lie? In society, on the planet, in our bodies, or perhaps in our minds?

The Libertad Parametrizada series began in June 2019 as a web application. Later the project took on several forms: Instagram filters, Google Maps “vandalism,” a blind auction for the Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) in Panama, an Arduino installation, and even a tattoo. The long-form series with 243 pieces on Art Blocks was, I believe, the last stop and the perfect closing for this journey.
